Roxas, A.S. and Aguila, N.P. 1971. A search for thermo-tolerant yeast strains and/or isolates has been conducted by the Molasses Fermentation Division of Philsugin. The research proceed as follows: first, a comprehensive screening program in which yeasts of all types and from all sources are tested for their ability to produce the desired products. Second, an attempt was made to obtain improved or acclimatized yeast strain(s) from among the selected promising strains and/or isolates.
