     Legendre, B.L. 1991.   The real justification for the core/press installation was its accurate valuation of cane that encouraged quality with increased profitability to both growers and processors. While the standard ton method was based only on the quality of the normal juice coupled with a trash deduction, the core/press method is based on the direct analysis for Brix, pol and fiber in the cane.
