The Ministry of Agriculture of Bashkiria is planning to increase the area under beet cultivation to increase sugar production. Beet-growing areas are formed around two operating sugar factories — in Raevka and Chishmy.

There are plans to modernize sugar factories, whose capacity will be increased to 6000 tonnes per day. The mills will reach the daily capacity of crushing 5000 tonnes per day this season.

In the current season, the sowing of sugar beet will be increased to 35,000 hectares as against 26,000 hectares last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. The government has planned to further increase the area under beet cultivation for 2022.

During a seminar on the development of beet-growing regions, it was discussed that the Chishminsky Sugar Factory JSC has invested 1 billion rubles for modernization of the mill and is planning to invest 1.7 billion rubles for further development. “Raevsakhar” LLC is investing 470 million rubles this year and 457 million rubles next year for modernization.
