Reaction of Low Fiber Cane Towards Milling

Suerte, D.  1956.  It has been shown that low fiber canes affect adversely extraction of sucrose which behavior is contrary to the general experience of sugar technologists and mill engineers in other countries. This low extraction is due to: nature of the cells and behavior of bagasse on compression, more powdery form in the brittle canes and retentivity of water as found by bagasse analyses.
