Vane, G.W.  1981.  A problem that has arisen in Europe and ascribed with certainty to dextran is, fever reactions in hospitalized patients infused with dextran-containing invert sugar solutions. A most interesting example of a consumer problem is the traces of dextran in the sucrose used retards the setting of the candy pieces and distortion can result, causing problems, particularly at the packaging problems.
