Plastic Materials for Mill-Roll Design
--------------------. 1986. Smith Mirrlees has recently introduced a new synthetic material for general use within the sugar industry. Called ROTALON, this material has already been successful as an alternative to cast iron or cast steel for mill roller scraper tips and as an alternative to gunmetal for bearings. This paper suggests that hydraulic motors offer opportunities for very substantial cost savings together with greatly enhanced control facilities. Plastic Materials for Mill-Roll Design.
