New Method of Sugar Cane Hauling in the Philippines

Harken, J.T.  1951.  Pampanga Sugar Mills put into operation a new method of hauling cane by means of large specially designed ten ton Tournahaulers. A number of “cane baskets” with a capacity of up to five tons are distributed throughout the fields and loaded by hand with canes. These baskets are picked up by head crane mounted on Tournahauler and hauled to a railroad sidings into the railroad flatcar by the same crane and finally into the Central.
