Methods of Alcohol Production Available to the Cane Sugar Refiner
Bennett, M.C. 1981. From the refining operation, with a requirement to produce both raw sugar for the refinery and fuel alcohol, the factory operation might be change significantly. Instead of operating the factory for maximum recovery of sugar, it might now be operated for maximum purity of the “A” strike sugar, with the whole of the “A” molasses going to the distillery. In this way, the impurity load on the refinery would be reduced, as would the costs of the refining operation. Methods of Alcohol Production Available to the Cane Sugar Refiner.
