Kuntz, J.B.  1993.  It has been shown that significant variability exists in sugar color data due to difference in membrane types. Simple “filtration through a 0.45 micron filter” will notuffice as a valid, reproducible technique for obtaining accurate and precise turbidity and color data for sugar.
