Lead Substitutes for Laboratory Sugar Clarification

Garcia, M.A.  2003.  Due to health and environmental concerns lead clarification had to be phased out for sugar analysis. This led to the present usage of two methods for factory samples and the development of a new procedure for a raw sugar polarization that does not use chemical clarification. In addition there are both chemical and instrumental methods being developed for the analysis of sugarcane, sugar products and factory materials.
