Sugar production in Jamaica has continued downward for a second consecutive month, according to Jamaica's Gleaner newspaper.
The Sugar Association of the Caribbean has reported that Jamaica produced 21,628 metric tonnes of sugar in May.
This is in comparison to the 25,289 tonnes produced in April.
For the second consecutive month, Belize topped the region in sugar production with 26,599 tonnes.
Jamaica was second, followed by Guyana with 13,721 tonnes and Barbados fourth with 3,963 tonnes.
Last month, the Sugar Association had blamed drought conditions for the fall off in production in Jamaica.
