Improving Combustion Efficiency in Bagasse Fired sugar Factory Boilers
Proctor, A.J. and Kemp, P.J. 1986. It was concluded that the furnace efficiency of the boiler at Waialua Sugar Company in Hawaii could be improved, following analyses of the materials from the dust catcher cyclone, of the grate ash and of deposits collected from the fire side of the superheater tubes. Improvements include correcting the operation of various dampers, sealing air leaks into the furnace and redirecting the bagasse blower to distribute the fuel as evenly as possible in the fire box.
