Factors Influencing the Retention Time of Transport Units in Mill Yards

Jacquin, E., Pyneeandee, D., et.al.  1998.  A study was carried out to identify the factors responsible with a view to making recommendations in the context of centralization. After identification of mills with long and short retention times, a comparison was made between them on the basis of the following parameters: daily cane intake, hourly frequency of weighing, proportion of cane received from different categories of planters and the number, type and capacity of transport units and unloading system.
