Economics of Sugarcane Post-Harvest Losses

     Collado, A.G., Collado,J., et.al. 1992.  Various factors that affect the sugar and non-sucrose concentrations after the cane is cut are briefly presented and discussed. Economic losses due to pre-harvest practices, trash and dextran are calculated and shown in a per hectare basis. A set of recommendations for control of post-harvest deterioration is enumerated.
