Continuous Vacuum Pan Operation at Colonial Sugars, Inc.

Betancourt, E.O., et.al.  1990.  In August of 1987, Colonial Sugars, Inc. commissioned the first continuous vacuum pan in North America. After nearly two years of operation, it can be concluded that the improvement in yield and sugar quality along with the ease and flexibility of operation has proven that more continuous vacuum pans should be considered in future plans.
