Cane Cleaning Using Diffuser Press Water

Lamusse, J.P.  1985.  The use of diffuser press water for cane washing could eliminate sugar losses and other problems associated with water washing of cane. Sand and soil trapped in the bagasse bed of cane diffusers increase the ash content of bagasse and is calculated that for a typical ash percent cane value of two percent, the ash in bagasse will be 4.0 for cane diffusers and 3.0 for bagasse diffusers.
