Analysis of Polarity and Brix in Sugar Cane Juice and Polarity in Raw Sugar Using Near Infrared Spectrophotometer
Songco, C. 2002. 136 samples of first extract sugarcane juice were measured in duplicate on a filter type NIR spectrophotometer for the estimation of brix and polarity, and 82 samples of raw sugar for the estimation of polarity. Reference analyses results were obtained using saccharimeter. Calibration of the said parameters for sugarcane juice and raw sugar samples were developed and actual analysis results were validated through a parallel test against the reference method.
