Vukov, K.  1975.  The determination of the activity of hydroxyl ions is beset with the same difficulties as the determination of the hydrogen ions. Instead of the exact activity of these ions, one determines the pH values with the help of a conventional pH meter; the pOH is calculated from the ionization constant of water.
