A New Instrument for Obtaining Cane Juice for Refractometer Readings

--------------. 1930.  The “Bais lancet” is a sharp lancet with a deep straight groove running from the point to the hilt. It is simply inserted with steady pressure into the part of the cane to be sampled. Several drops of juice promptly run down the groove and the lancet is then withdrawn and the drops run by gravity onto the refractometer prism.
