Mayo, A.R., Rodriguez, B.M., et.al.  1984.  This paper summarizes the full scale commercial application of a previously tested laboratory concept of double mud filtration to increase sugar recovery at United States Sugar Corporation’s Clewiston Mill. Belt presses for the second filtration following existing vacuum filters were used and resulted in an added recovery of 17,000 lbs per day of sucrose from clarified muds.
